Vampire Bytes
Book Description: The eagerly anticipated new vampire computer game, Cult of Blood, is ready for release when its lead programmer disappears--along with the game's vital source code. Also missing: teenager Chloe Dorn, last seen playing a vampire LARP (Live Action Role-Playing) game on the streets of Palo Alto, California. As intrepid P. I. Catherine Sayler hunts for them, the programmer's body is discovered--drained of blood, with two small puncture wounds in the neck. But Chloe is still missing, alone in a dark...
Vampire Hunter
Synopsis: Entombed for almost a century in the corpse of the "Titanic" at the bottom of the icy North Atlantic, the Vampire is finally released by a treasure-hunting expedition--that never makes it back alive. In a small South Carolina town, a stranger calling himself Charles Gabriel seeks desperate help from a beautiful psychiatrist. But while irresistible sexual passions are stirred by supernatural powers, the town falls victim to a horrifyingly rampant surge of unearthly evil.
Vampire of the Mists (Ravenloft Books)
Synopsis: Jander Sunstar, an elven vampire from the Forgotten Realms world, is pulled into the newly formed dark realm of Ravenloft and forges an alliance with the land's most powerful inhabitant--Count Strahd Von Zarovich, himself a newly risen vampire. But as Jander teaches the Count the finer points of being undead, he learns that he is tutoring the man that drove his lost love insane!
The Vampire Tapestry
The Author writes: I began this book as a single story about a vampire hunting a woman who turns out to be a better hunter than he is. When I was done and had sold the story to OMNI MAGAZINE, people said, "But you didn't let us see him drink!" So a new chapter opened up which gives you, gentle reader, the position of voyeur; and then a further development blossomed in my busy writer's brain, for surely you (and, to tell the truth, I as author) want also to see the vampire in love, or what passes for love with him. And after that -- At the end, I looked back and saw that I had a novel, a story of survival and adaptation, and a meditation on the theme of predation. It's not the bloody old Count all over again, and it's not a lurid Rice rip-off, it's the most distinctive and provocative vampire tale you've ever come across. Enjoy.
The Vampire Virus
Synopsis: The mysterious death of an archaeologist lures disease-control researcher Dr. Bailey Harrison deep into the jungles of Costa Rica. There, in the hot zone, an unknown and potentially devastating new virus has made its first lethal appearance. Yet a more horrifying evil awaits Bailey at the end of her quest. For in a lavish estate carved from the savage wilderness, an extraordinary man rules, the master of a forbidding world. And he himself is slave to a centuries-old hunger.
Vampire$
Synopsis: From the bestselling author of the phenomenal DAW science fiction classic, Armor, comes the blood-curdling story of a dedicated group that makes a precarious living killing the undead. "This is exciting and surprising stuff . . . a real genre bender that keeps the best elements of both."
Vampires Anonymous
Review: If you squint your third eye a little bit, you can read this book as using "vampire" as a metaphor for "gay." Andrew, our undead hero, is unabashedly both of these, and takes us on a romp through his 'unlife' -- not as sensual as Lestat's merry band of neck-biters, and a little more disco. Nevertheless, the characters are well drawn--and you'll laugh, cry, fly and die with them. Great fun and highly recommended!
